Ross-on-Wye is a great base for visiting many events, many of which are well within an hour's drive of the town.

The world famous Hay Festival takes place at the end of May when for 10 days, 80 000 visitors from the UK, Europe and America converge on the tiny market town of Hay-on-Wye which has 1300 people and 39 bookshops!
